 Fire Fighting

fire fightingOur state of the art fire fighting training simulators offer a controlled and safe training environment where crew can learn the practical skills required to fight a fire at sea. Replicating a vessel's interior, the propane fuelled simulators offer hands-on training which is tailored to the needs of the Superyacht industry.

Our unrivalled fire fighting training is available at three locations around the United Kingdom:

Portsmouth Fire School, HMS Excellent, Hampshire - offers eight computer controlled hot training units, configured as vessels with an engine room, galley and passageways. These incorporate smoke, heat and propane gas flame generators to emulate many different training scenarios. In addition, a 50 seat demonstration area, search and rescue equipment and hose handling areas are also available within the facility. Fully equipped classrooms and student facilities are housed adjacent to the Fire School.

Plymouth Fire School, HMS Raleigh, Torpoint, Cornwall - offers three hot training units, a 50 seat demonstration area and search, rescue and hose handling areas. This school has additional kit and equipment to undertake submarine, surface and commercial training. Fully equipped classrooms and student facilities are housed adjacent to the Fire School.

Strathclyde Fire Training Centre, Glasgow - this new training centre, which VT Flagship operates with the Strathclyde Search and Rescue, opened in Summer 2007. The three storey propane fuelled simulator delivers training for maritime organisations, the Royal Navy and local fire brigades, and benefits from facilities broadly similar to the Portsmouth and Plymouth schools.
